Okay, so what we're not going to do is pretend that everything is okay in the world. I am seeing many people on social media stating that if one is in quarantine and they come out without a business idea or motivation to "go harder" then they are doing something wrong. No sir, you are wrong. A pandemic is not the same as failing a test; our world is forever going to be changed once COVID-19 is over and we shouldn't have to act as if everything will automatically bounce back to normal. Unfortunately, we will have to create a new normal that will probably require us to be more cautious with how we interact with the world. Thousands have lost their jobs and hundreds more have lost loved ones. I want to make clear that it is perfectly okay to lack motivation during these times, why? Because living through a pandemic can be stressful, its traumatic; this circumstance threatened your well-being and is therefore drawing on your coping abilities.
COVID-19 is forcing us into not only an economic tornado, but a financial, emotional and spiritual one. It is stirring up our routines, separating us from loved ones and most importantly, making us face our mortality. It is hard to ignore when our federal and provincial government are doing daily press conferences, tallying up the new number of deaths and projecting just how many more we can expect.
I am currently working in a field the government deems "essential" and although I am grateful to have a job while many are being laid off, I cannot help by feel a deep seated fatigue. It is mentally taxing to prepare for work every morning, not knowing what my day will hold outside the safe walls of my home. Further, my anxiety quickens with the thought of bringing something home to my family.
I type this with a heavy heart, knowing that in the midst of this pandemic, depression rates may increase and levels of life satisfaction may decrease. I encourage you during this time to continue social interaction despite physical distancing measures being put into place. Talk about your fears and concerns and be hopeful of the days to come, for this too shall pass.
Further, although 'self-care' has become a millennials go-to at the slightest of inconveniences, if there were ever a time to indulge, it would be now. Listen, I just KNOW my ladies are struggling now that we can't see our hair/lash/eyebrow/nail lady....because I'm struggling too! You don't have to be productive during quarantine but be happy! Whatever that means for you and your mental health......as long as you maintain 6ft distance and wash your hands.

Amen! Thank you for this. God bless you and I pray that the blood will cover you as you continue to leave your house to go to work every day. We definitely need more compassionate people during this time and I’m thankful that you’ve stepped up to offer that! Love and miss you ❤️ Be safe
