Sharing is Caring

Sharing is Caring

We often use this term to get kids to share their toys or their food. But we quickly realize as adults, there are more vital things that can be shared...like milestones, disappointments and accomplishments. And by the time you have things to share, life has probably burned you a few times where you keep these monumental moments close to your heart lest someone hurt you again.

I am here to tell you, that sharing IS caring. There is power in your testimony. A few weeks ago, a few girlfriends came to my home; and as it typically goes we had food, caught up on life and had a good time. Somewhere in the evening, the atmosphere shifted. We went from discussing birthdays and events to purpose and our struggles. Everything was heartfelt and raw, we were sharing ourselves and there was healing in that.

Reader, I'll be honest with you...I hadn't written something meaningful in a long time. I was unmotivated, lacked vision and was stagnant. But as we sat there, not only being honest with each other but ourselves, my spirit was stirred up and I quickly got my laptop and began to write.

Talking about your experiences opens doors you never knew existed. Don't be ashamed of your story, you've already been delivered. It's just a chapter in your story, the rest of yet to be written. And isn't it awesome that the rest of your life won't be as impactful if the first few chapters weren't written? This may sound like an optimistic way of looking at things, but doesn't it inspire something within you? Knowing that this isn't the end of you but rather the journey to something more.

As I write this to you, I encourage you to share and open up. The only things that can be used against you, are the things you're still guilty of. You don't know what healing or miracle is waiting on the other side of your testimony.

The truth hurts but you don't have to.
